156 Hours

• Part-time employees can work up to 156 hours a month. 
• We offer 12 hour day shifts (0700 hrs – 1900 hrs) 7 days a week.
• We also have 12 hour night shifts (1900 hrs – 0700 hrs) on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • That means its possible to do 24 hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. 

Part-time to Full-time

• When we need to fill a full-time position, we look to our part-time staff  and volunteers before advertising outside of the department.
• Working for us as a part-timer gives both you and us a chance to make sure we are a good fit for each other.

Great BLS Experience

• Since we are a remote BLS agency, our EMTs run every call, from the simplest to the most complex, because ALS help is a long way away.
• Extended patient contact is common for us as we can have long transport times.
• We have an expanded scope of practice to help us better care for our patients while we get them to a higher level of care.
  • With the proper training / endorsements, our BLS expanded scope includes:
    • Supraglottic Airways
    • End Tidal CO2 / Capnography / Capnometry
    • IVs and IOs
    • Nitrous Oxide
    • Diphenhydramine
    • Draw – up Epi
    • D10 and Glucagon
    • Naloxone, IM
    • Ondansetron
    • Oxymetazoline

Modern Equipment

• We have newer apparatus:
  • 2021 Type 1 ambulance
  • 2023 Type 2 ambulance
  • 2023 Brush Truck
• PowerLoad systems on both main ambulances
• Power cots on all ambulances
• Zoll X series monitor / AED
• LUCAS Chest Compression System
• Newer stair chairs
• Lower pressure / low kink structure hose and nozzles
• 2023 MSA G1 SCBAs
• New portable radios on all fire apparatus

Deployment to Fires

• When we have sufficient staffing, we send personnel to larger fires as additional resources including:
  • Line EMTs
  • Ambulance Standbys
  • Wildland Engines
  • Public Information Officer

Training

• We are a growing and developing agency that offers an assortment of in-house training and encourages outside training.
• We offer:

  • Firefighter 1
  • Firefighter 2
